Green Onion Cakes Recipe

These are a wonderful and easy recipe that will result in some delicious green onion cakes that are addicting and just as good, if not better, than the ones you can buy at the store.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 ¼ cups boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, or as needed

Instructions
 

  • In a big bowl, combine flour and hot water with a fork. Make a dough ball by kneading. Let the dough rest in the covered basin for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Cut the dough into 16 equal pieces. Make a circle that is 1/4 inch thick out of each piece. Oil should be brushed onto each circle before adding salt, pepper, and around a teaspoon of green onions. Each pancake should be rolled up like a cigar; the open ends should be pinched together to form a disc. Flatten each round to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  • 2 teaspoons of oil are heated in a big skillet. Cook cakes for about two minutes on each side, or until golden brown. If more oil is required, add it in between batches.
