Ingredients
  

For the cake:

  • 1-1/2 pkg (4 oz. each) Semi-Sweet Chocolate baking bar
  • 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter
  • 1 ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 pic eggs
  • 2-1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

For the frosting:

  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate (chips or baking chocolate)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions
 

  • Begin by preheating your oven to a temperature of 350°F.
  • Next, take a microwaveable bowl and add in your chocolate and butter. Microwave the mixture on HIGH for 1-2 minutes or until it has fully melted. Once melted, give the mixture a good stir to ensure that it is well combined.
  • After this, add in the sugar and stir it into the chocolate mixture. Then, crack in the eggs and add the vanilla. Use an electric mixer on low speed to beat the ingredients together until they are fully combined.
  • Now, it's time to add in the milk, flour, baking soda, and salt. Use the electric mixer to beat all the ingredients together until they are well blended.
  • Next, you'll need to pour the mixture evenly into two 9-inch round cake pans that have been greased and floured. Once the mixture is evenly distributed, place the pans into the oven and bake the cakes for 35 minutes.
  • When the cakes are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans. Once they have cooled, spread frosting onto the bottom layer of cake. Then, place the second layer of cake on top and spread frosting over the entire cake.
  • And there you have it - a delicious cake that is perfect for any occasion!
